Joiner, a veteran broadcast journalist and documentary filmmaker, recounts the extraordinary story of John Service, who was sacked by the Foreign Service during Senator Joseph McCarthy’s Communist witch hunts. Joiner had special access to newly released Soviet and American documents which contain evidence that Service was innocent of McCarthy’s charges.
