Ivan Klima - My Crazy Century ♦

Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 7:00 pm

As he recounts in this extraordinary memoir, the Czech novelist and playwright, born in 1931, had his first taste of the “crazy” twentieth century when the Nazis sent his family to Theresienstadt; this was the first he knew of his Jewish heritage. Later, Klima became one of Prague’s premier chroniclers, but his work was banned from publication, and though he was in London in 1968 when the Soviets invaded his country, Klima gave up an exile’s freedom to join his countrymen.
