Eli J. Finkel - The All-or-Nothing Marriage: How the Best Marriages Work — in conversation with Daniel Pink

Upcoming Event
Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 1:00 pm

Before 1850 or so, marriage was about the basics: food, shelter, and protection. Later it embraced romance, and today it’s as much about self-esteem and personal growth as it is about love and companionship. Finkel, a professor at Northwestern University and the director of its Relationships and Motivation Lab, believes that while marriages are better now than they have ever been, most can still be improved. Drawing on his extensive research into relationships and looking closely at a variety of conjugal partnerships, Finkel outlines why some marriages thrive and others fail. He distills his findings into succinct advice for immediate action, long-term goals, and suggestions for recalibrating expectations.

Finkel will be in conversation with Daniel Pink, author of A Whole New Mind and Drive.
