Andrea Jarrell - I'm the One Who Got Away — in conversation with Bill O'Sullivan

Upcoming Event
Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 1:00 pm

Jarrell’s powerful memoir starts as the story of how her mother saved herself and her daughter from Jarrell’s father, a charismatic and abusive actor. As the two traveled across the country, putting miles between themselves and the danger Jarrell’s father represented, they formed a strong bond. Jarrell identified so closely with her mother that only a shocking experience much later showed her that she didn’t have to relive her mother’s life. Expanding on her New York Times “Modern Love” column, Jarrell writes with compassion and insight about how her childhood quest for security at last led her to find independence and love on her own terms.

Jarrell will be in conversation with Bill O’Sullivan, senior managing editor of Washingtonian Magazine.
