Scarface arrived in Chicago in 1920; in a few years his “outfit” was a thriving business involving bootlegging, racketeering, and corruption. Elusive, he was finally convicted of tax evasion in 1931. Eig revisits the St.Valentine’s Day massacre and explodes longstanding myths about the criminal and his captors.
