OUT-OF-STORE EVENTS

• Did you know that Politics & Prose sells books for author events held outside the store?

Book sales outside the store provide another service to individuals and organizations in the community and help us increase our sales. We have sold books at author-signing parties in private homes, in churches and many other venues. We have even sold books at baseball games, theater openings and once, at a reception in a beauty salon! Each out-of-store sale is different.

Politics & Prose provides books and the staff to sell them, although some groups prefer to sell books themselves. If you are giving a party for a friend who has a book coming out, or if your business or organization is sponsoring a speaker who's written a recent book, give our offsite coordinator, Barb Benenson, a call at (202) 363-0730-the earlier the better-and we'll make every effort to accommodate your needs. We look forward to adding to the success of your event.

• Did you know that Politics & Prose partners with outside agencies?

For over five years Politics and Prose has partnered with the Department of the Interior University to sponsor government-wide executive forums and speaker series to help government employees balance career, family, and diversity in the workplace. Working closely with Susan Leonard from DOI, Politics and Prose has created programs of authors speaking about their books. Three of the authors, including Ron Suskind (A Hope In The Unseen), have been Pulitzer Prize winners.

Further, Politics and Prose co-sponsors events with others in the community, bringing a broad range of authors to different venues through our newest endeavor, Politics & Prose At... . Click on the Politics & Prose At... button on the home page to see this month’s events. If you are interested in co-sponsoring an event outside the store, or for more information, please contact Bonnie Kogod at bkogod@politics-prose.com or (202) 363-7738.
