We knit, we learn about knitting, we read and talk about knitting in this class. Whether you're just learning to cast on or are already a virtuoso with short rows and brioche stitch, join us to talk about it. We'll have expert instruction, interesting discussions, show and tell, stash confessions and the opportunity to exchange ideas.
In addition to a handful of knitting books, we’ll also discuss the following novels: The Scarlet Letter, with themes of lust, punishment, feminism and needlework; The Marvelous Land of Oz --- who knew about this army of pretty girls with knitting needles for weapons?; A Tale of Two Cities--- Madame Defarge is one of the great knitting characters in all literature; and To The Lighthouse--- Virginia Woolf was a dedicated knitter.
