A course about the authors’ distinctive literary styles, portrayals of manhood and womanhood in the 1920s, depictions of expatriate life and travel, and the authors’ larger public images as adapted by films and other media.

This course will chart the progress and setbacks of the women’s movement in America, its supporters and opponents, from publication of The Feminine Mystique and passage of the Equal Pay Act in 1963 to the defeat of the Equal Rights Amendment in 1983. Four Mondays: June 3 - June 24, 1 - 3 p.m.

In this week-long workshop for rising 3rd-6th graders, students will practice writing many different forms of poetry and craft their own poetry journals, including final drafts and illustrations of the poetry created during the week. June 17 - 21, 10 a.m. -12 p.m.

In this week-long workshop for rising 6th-9th graders, students will craft autobiographical stories using different writing forms (poetry, vignettes, short story) and illustration (drawing, painting, graphing, cartooning) to collage together a memoir of students' lives. June 24 - 28, 1 - 3 p.m.

Old school gaming is back for kids ages 10 and up! Our games are heavy on the story-telling, but kids of all ages find ways to enjoy the “verbal video game” aspect of game play as well. July 22 - July 26, 10 a.m. to noon

This week-long fantasy writing workshop for rising 8th - 12th graders will teach students how to scaffold and build believable worlds for fantasy stories. Participants will learn about the different forms of fantasy, including high fantasy, dystopian, steampunk, magical realism and more. August 12 - 16, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Comics Jam & Scribbler’s Cabal is a read-aloud session and drawing free-for-all for ages 8 and up. Kids can bring in their own drawings to share. August 19 - 23, 10 a.m. to noon
