Mr. Gabe - Play Date
Play Date is the first CD released by Mr. Gabe, a popular children’s performer based in Takoma Park. Aimed primarily at children between 2 and 6, the CD features tuneful and witty originals that draw on Mr. Gabe’s experience as a stay-at-home dad, as well as several traditional and modern favorites (such as “Five Little Monkeys” and “The Motorcycle Song,” by Arlo Guthrie). The music covers a broad array of styles, including folk, country, rock ‘n’ roll, reggae, pop, and even hip hop (“Mr. Sneeze.”) Guest musicians include Michael Shereikis, of the DC-area band Chopteeth. Mr. Shereikis also co-produced the album.
